Barback Merch ("we", "us") operates barbackmerch.com. This explains what we
collect, why, and what control you have over it. We have tried to write it in
plain English.
What we collect
- Order information: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if
you provide one, and what you bought. We need this to make and deliver your
order.
- Payment information: processed directly by Shopify Payments and the card
networks. We never see or store your full card number.
- Usage information: pages viewed, device and browser type, and how you arrived
at the site — including which venue's QR code you scanned.
Why we collect it
- To produce, ship, and support your order
- To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and respond to your questions
- To calculate what we owe the venue whose merch you bought
- To send you marketing emails, but only if you opted in
- To detect and prevent fraud
Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary with service providers who work on our behalf and
are contractually restricted from using your information for their own purposes:
- Shopify — our store and payment platform
- Our print and fulfillment partners — they receive your name and shipping
address in order to make and mail your item
- Shipping carriers — to deliver your package
What we do not do
We want to be specific about this, because it is the question people actually
care about:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not hand your email address
or contact details to the bars and restaurants whose merch we sell.
Venues receive sales totals and what sold. They do not receive customer lists,
email addresses, or contact information. If we ever send you something on a
venue's behalf, it comes from us, and you can unsubscribe from it in one click.
Marketing emails
We only send marketing email to people who opted in at checkout. Every one of
those emails has an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Order confirmations
and shipping notices are transactional and will still be sent, because you need
them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including California, Virginia, Colorado,
Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana — you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request a copy of it
- Request that we correct or delete it
- Opt out of marketing at any time
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these, email quentin@barbackmerch.com. We will respond within
45 days. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals.
How long we keep it
Order records are retained as long as needed for accounting, tax, and warranty
purposes. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete
them.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your session, and understand
how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, though parts of
checkout may stop working if you do.
Children
This store is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes
will be announced on this page.
